North Down athlete Amy Foster finished second in the final of the 100 metres at the European Youth Olympics in Lignano in Italy on Tuesday evening. The 16-year-old claimed a silver medal in a time of 11.84 seconds, which won't be recognised as a personal best because of a high wind reading.
Foster won her semi-final in 12.08 after clocking a personal best of 11.98 in her heat.
The athlete, representing Ireland, went into the event with a best of 12.02.
