Foster sprints to silver in Italy
North Down athlete Amy Foster finished second in the final of the 100 metres at the European Youth Olympics in Lignano in Italy on Tuesday evening.

The 16-year-old claimed a silver medal in a time of 11.84 seconds, which won't be recognised as a personal best because of a high wind reading.

Foster won her semi-final in 12.08 after clocking a personal best of 11.98 in her heat.

The athlete, representing Ireland, went into the event with a best of 12.02.
