New half-marathon mark recognised | | Samuel Wanjiru's world half-marathon record has been ratified by the
International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). The Kenyan ran 59 minutes and 16 seconds, in a race in Rotterdam on 11 September. He broke the previous mark of 59:17 set by countryman Paul Tergat in Milan in April 1998. Also ratified were Japanese runner Mizuki Noguchi's 25km record of 1:22:13 and 30km mark of 1:38:49.
