Nelson wins Breakthrough Award
Sprinter Alex Nelson won the Local Radio Breakthrough Award at the BBC Midlands Sports Awards.

The 17-year-old, from Birches Head in Stoke-on Trent, had an amazing year in which he broke the British Under 18 record for the 200 metres.

"I'm really pleased that I've been able to win such an award at such a prestigious night," he said.

"There's no secret, without going into some scientific terms, why I can run so fast - I think it's just natural."
