Liz McColgan has resigned as chair of scottishathletics after more than two years in the post. The former world and Olympic silver medallist will be replaced by Mark Hollinshead but will remain on the board of management in a director role.
McColgan said: "I felt the need to resign because I can no longer commit and volunteer the time needed.
"I have enjoyed my time as chair, and will remain actively involved with athletics through my coaching."
Hollinshead, 45, is managing director of the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd.
He said: "Having been involved on the scottishathletics board for the last four years I'm delighted to be able to step up to take on the role of chair.
"All of the board would like to pay tribute to Liz's strong leadership during the last two years.
"We are delighted that she will be remaining on the board to provide the sport with the benefit of her unique knowledge and experience
"I strongly believe we have the team well equipped to drive all aspects of our sport forward in the right direction."
