Olympic pole vault champion Yelena Isinbayeva has pledged to smash another world record when she returns to British soil in February.

The 23-year-old Russian has committed herself to the Norwich Union Grand Prix indoor event in Birmingham.

The world record holder - both indoors and out - said: "I'm capable of vaulting five metres at the moment and can go even higher in the near future.

"My indoor record stands at 4.90 so I'm planning to break it in Birmingham."

Isinbayeva insists she loves to compete in Britain because of the "great reception from the British fans".

She has already won more than 175,000 in bonuses for breaking records on British soil.
