Johnson fit for European trials
Jade Johnson receives treatment for a back spasm on the runway
Johnson had to be treated trackside in Glasgow last weekend
Long jumper Jade Johnson will be fit to compete at the Norwich Union European Indoor trials and AAA Championships in Sheffield on 12-13 February.

The Briton was carried off the runway at the Norwich Union International in Glasgow last week after suffering a suspected recurrence of a back injury.

But doctors have since diagnosed a back spasm and declared her fit to compete.

Johnson lept 6.29m for second place in Glasgow but must jump 6.40m to make the European Indoors in Madrid in March.

Meanwhile, fast-improving national indoor 60m hurdles champion Sarah Claxton heads a party of Britons competing in Norway this weekend.

The two-day competition in Bergen is for talented athletes considered to be just below Grand Prix level.

Claxton will face former AAA champion Diane Allahgreen - who achieved the European Indoor Championships qualifying standard for the 60m hurdles in Bratislava last weekend - and ex-AAA Under-20 champion Sara McGreavy.

Former champion Damien Greaves, who also achieved the qualifying standard in Bratislava, is in the men's 60m hurdles, while Steve Phillips and Gillian Cooke contest the long jumps.
