Double Olympic champion Kelly Holmes has strongly hinted she will not run in this year's World Championships. Holmes, who won the 1500m on her return to racing in the UK on Saturday, said she has "no ambition" to compete in Helsinki in August.
"Will I have as much commitment, desire and energy to go through a major, major champs like that?" she said.
"That is what I don't know. That's what is going to take time. Only time is going to tell and how training goes."
Questions have been constantly raised about how long Holmes, now 34, will continue her track career following her success in last sumer's Athens Games, where she became the first Briton ever to win both the 800m and 1,500m.

And she recently fuelled the speculation by her reluctance to commit to competing at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in March.
She also feels nothing will surpass her achievements in Greece.
"I was in the best shape I could ever be and I know I will never be in that shape again because that took every part of emotion, commitment and a massive back-up team to keep me injury-free and that takes a lot out of you," she said.
"I gave absolutely everything to the Olympics and that is why I found it hard to get back into training.
"But to then go back through that routine of the dedication you have to have on the track has been hard.
"I like the racing but I don't like the training any more."
