Mark Lewis-Francis has made the British sprint relay team despite failing to make the semis in the individual 100m. With Darren Campbell and Chris Lambert both out injured, the selectors had only five fit men to choose from for the heats on Friday at 1700 BST.
Marlon Devonish, Jason Gardener and Christian Malcolm complete the quartet, with only Gardener having shown any sort of form in Helsinki.
Craig Pickering, 18, is the one to miss out at his first senior championships.
The GB team took gold at last summer's Olympics, but the below-par performances of the sprinters - none made the 100m final - leaves them well off the pace of their main rivals.
Lewis-Francis could finish only fifth in his 100m quarter-final on Saturday, in 10.53 seconds.
The 22-year-old said then that he was struggling with a hamstring injury and might not be fit in time for a relay berth.
"It's the same tear from 2002," he said. "I thought it would be okay but obviously not."
