Smith leaps to triple jump gold

Smith recorded the three longest jumps of the competition
Jamaica's Trecia Smith wrapped up the women's triple jump in Helsinki to claim her first world title.

The 29-year-old, who finished fourth at last year's Olympics, landed 15.11m at her fifth attempt to take gold.

Cuban Yargelis Savigne set a new personal best of 14.82m to take silver while Anna Pyatykh of Russia was third.

Defending world champion Tatyana Lebedeva of Russia did not compete in the final after aggravating an Achilles tendon injury in qualifying.
