Jamaica's Asafa Powell set his second-fastest time of the season by winning the 100m at the IAAF Golden Spike meeting in the Czech Republic. Powell overcame the cold and wet conditions in Ostrava to clock 9.85 seconds - just outside the 9.84 he ran last month.
Nigeria's Olusoji Fasuba was second in 10.17 with Jamaican Michael Frater third in 10.20.
Only Tim Montgomery and Maurice Greene have run faster than Powell.
Olympic 400m champion Jeremy Wariner, who has targeted fellow American Michael Johnson's world record of 43.18 seconds, won his event in a time of 45.58 seconds.
But the time was well outside the 44.53 he ran last month which is the fast time in the world this year.
Scot Allan Scott ran a lifetime best of 13.78 in the 110m hurdles but it was only good enough for sixth place behind Brazil's Mateus Innocencio.
