Pavey heads up cross country team
Jo Pavey in action
Pavey finished an excellent fifth in the Olympic 5,000m
Olympic 5,000m finalist Jo Pavey will spearhead Great Britain's defence of the women's European cross country team title in Germany on 12 December.

Hayley Yelling, Helen Clitheroe and Natalie Harvey have also been selected for the British squad after taking the top three spots at Sunday's trial.

Experienced internationals Keith Cullen and Karl Keska returned from injury to earn a place in the men's senior squad.

Mohamed Farah booked his spot on the team by winning the trial in London.

There were three automatic places up for grabs at the Reebok London Cross Challenge, which also acted as the trials for the European Cross Country Championships.

A further three places on both the men and women's teams were handed out at the discretion of the selectors.

Yelling delivered another dominant display to win the women's trial in 16 minutes, 47 seconds.

She was followed closely home by Clitheroe and Harvey.

Farah won the men's race ahead of Peter Riley with Cullen third.

Keska did not return from his training base in the United States to contest the trial because of injury and his place is subject to fitness.
