 Isinbayeva has set a new standard |
Yelena Isinbayeva broke the world pole vault record for the third time this year on British soil at Crystal Palace on 31 July. Isinbayeva set a new mark of 4.90m six days after jumping 4.89m to break Russian compatriot Svetlana Feofanova's record of 4.88m.
The jump earned Isinbayeva a cash bonus of $50,000 from sponsors Norwich Union.
The two Russians will do battle with defending champion Stacy Dragila at the Athens Olympics.
