Johnson queries Young ruling
Michael Johnson
Johnson won gold in the relay, in which Young ran in early rounds
Michael Johnson has questioned the Court of Arbitration for Sport's bid to strip Jerome Young of an Olympic medal.

Johnson, a five-times Olympic champion who was with Young on the 4x400m relay team that struck gold in 2000, said his US team-mate was cleared to compete.

"When Young made the team, he had been cleared to run by USA Track and Field," Johnson told the Dallas Morning News.

He also admitted that he was not sure how he would react if anyone tried to take his Olympic relay medal away.

"I don't know how I would feel, or what I would do," Johnson said.

"I never felt it was going to happen because I felt there was no legitimate case for them to do that."

Young, who tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone in 1999, ran in preliminary rounds of the relay at Sydney.
