Larne runner James McIlroy and pole vaulter Zoe Brown from Antrim have been included in the British team for the Europa Cup in Poland. McIlroy will be aiming to confirm the encouraging form he showed towards the end of the 2003 outdoor season.
His best form came too late to make it to the World Championships, but he did do a personal best of one minute 45.30 seconds for the 800 metres in Zurich.
Brown leads the indoor and outdoor United Kingdom rankings.
"We will be represented by strong teams in both the men's and women's competitions at the European Cup," said team leader Max Jones.
"The Norwich Union GB men's team should contend for the overall title, but we do not start as favourites and it will be down to individual performances on the day as always."
