Morris has taken the British long distance running scene by storm |
Welsh distance runner Tracey Morris was unable to repeat her London Marathon success at Sunday's Great Manchester Run as she finished in 11th place. The 36-year-old booked her place in the Olympic team by finishing as the leading Briton in London last month.
She managed a time of 33 minutes 53 seconds for the 10km event in Manchester, which was won by Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan in 32mins 12 secs.
The first British runner home was Hayley Yelling, who finished eighth.
Tanni Grey-Thompson finished fourth in the wheelchair event.
