Surgery for Ethiopian pair
| Gebrselassie is set to leave track athletics to focus on the marathon | Ethiopians Haile Gebrselassie and Gezahegne Abera are both recovering after undergoing successful Achilles tendon operations in Finland. Former Olympic 10,000m gold medallist Gebrselassie could only manage fifth place at the Athens Games after his injury almost forced him to withdraw. Sydney 2000 marathon champion Abera failed to finish the London Marathon in April as he tried to defend his title. Surgeon Aki Hintsa said both athletes should recover in a matter of weeks.
