Paul McKee plans to compete at the World Indoors in Budapest
World indoor bronze medallist Paul McKee will be in action in his native Belfast in February.

The 400m specialist will lead the entry in the Irish Indoor Championships at the Odyssey Arena.

He claimed claimed bronze in last year's World Indoor Championships in Birmingham and he will be in action in Belfast on 14/15 February.

Sprinter Paul Brizzel and race walking star Gillian O'Sullivan will also be in action at the Belfast meeting.

O'Sullivan produced a world record in the last championships last February which was the first time that top-class indoor athletics had been staged at the Odyssey Arena.

She then went on to claim a brilliant silver medal in the World Championships in Paris during the summer.

The Irish selectors will be using the Odyssey event to gauge form before picking their team for the World Indoor Championships in Budapest a month later.

In addition to many top Irish performers, championship organisers are also expected to lure several other world-class athletes to the Belfast event.

Olympic silver medallist Darren Campbell and Mark Lewis-Francis competed in this year's championships.
