Paula Radcliffe added to her list of world records on Sunday as she won the Flora Light Women's Challenge. The Briton romped to victory over the 5km road course in London's Hyde Park in a time of 14 minutes and 51 seconds.
She bettered the old mark, set by American Deena Drossin, by three seconds.
Radcliffe won the Nike 10km in Richmond Park last weekend in her first competitive race since coming back from injury.
And she has announced plans to compete in next month's World Half Marathon Championships in Portugal and the Bupa Great North Run on 21 September.
Radcliffe, who already holds world records at the marathon and at 10km, destroyed a world-class field in Hyde Park.
She led virtually all the way to fend off Ethiopia's Derartu Tulu and Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan.
"It was just a case of going out and running as hard as I could," said Radcliffe, who will line up against Tulu again in the Great North Run, which will be screened live on BBC television.
