Now he is the man of the moment when it comes to the 200m, especially after his fabulous gold medal in Birmingham.

He is thriving on competition at the moment and has been choosy about where he races.

That schedule saw him miss the AAA's in Birmingham having already staked his claim with that time of 20.51 - the fourth fastest in the world this year.

The fact he declined an invitation to run suggested he had a little extra held in reserve for the World Indoors.

And with a silver in last year's Commonwealth Games, and a bronze in the Europeans, it was proved as he reached the top step of the podium.
