Jackson leads GB team
Dwain Chambers
There is no place for Chambers at the World Indoors in Birmingham
Colin Jackson will captain the largest team Britain has taken to a World Indoor Championships in Birmingham later this month.

The 36-year-old, who is the single British representative in the 60m hurdles, will retire after his race.

Britain's team of 22 men and 17 women go to the National Indoor Arena with high hopes of success for the three-day event that starts on Friday 14 March.

"It is a fitting way to end my career as a member of the GB Team, especially as I will be leading the team at a championship event on home soil," said Jackson.

"I look forward to going for gold in my final appearance at a major championship in front of the Birmingham crowd."

Jason Gardener and home favourite Mark Lewis-Francis have been chosen to head the British sprint challenge.

European 100m gold medalist Dwain Chambers misses out on selection after losing to Lewis-Francis on Saturday.

Daniel Caines, who skipped the trials along with Gardener, has been given the chance to defend his 400m title.

Jo Fenn
Will Fenn repeat her form in Birmingham?
Welshman Jamie Baulch will compete alongside him after being handed a place despite being disqualified in the trials.

Commonwealth 1500m title-holder Michael East will get his chance in the World Indoors with James Thie.

That is bad news for Ed Jackson, who is without a place despite knocking six seconds off his personal best to go under the qualifying time on Saturday.

World indoor triple jump-record holder Ashia Hansen leads the women's medal hopes after resting her bruised heel over the weekend.

The Birchfield Harrier is a red-hot favourite to add to her Commonwealth and European titles.

Jo Fenn has earned her berth in the 800m after dipping under two minutes to win a stunning 800m race in the trials.

Kelly Holmes is targeting a rare indoor 1500m medal and Hayley Tullett has a good chance at double the distance in the 3000m.
