The vote for our 2006 BBC Sport Photographer of the Year competition has now closed. And the winner is... Thomas McEldowney, from Manchester.
The 30-year-old's picture of an FC United fan celebrating a goal was the clear winner, with more than 20% of the votes.
"It was a really horrible Monday night in February. FC United were playing Accrington away," said Thomas.
"I went with a friend and we were cursing why we bothered turning up. It was raining and sleeting and absolutely freezing.
"To make it worse, my photos were absolutely terrible when I had them developed.
"It was only when I came back to the photos a month later when I noticed that one. There was something about it."
Our Young Sport Photographer of the Year competition was won by 15-year-old Charlie, from Worthing.

Thomas and Charlie will now get to spend time snapping at Wimbledon in the company of a professional sports photographer.
