Ritchie Davies recovered from losing the first set to beat Gary Anderson 5-2 and book his place in the Embassy World Championship final against Raymond Barneveld.

The Welshman, nicknamed "Lamb Chop", made a slow start but once he took a grip on the game he looked strong.

Anderson claimed the first set with a 64 checkout after Davies, who had beaten defending champion Tony David in the quarter-final, narrowly missed the bull as he attempted 170 to try to save the set.

But then Davies won three sets in row with a 140 check-out clinching one of the sets.

After a brief interval, Anderson recovered to win the fifth set.

It took him 17 darts to go two legs up but needed just 11 in the next leg as he followed a 180 with a treble 19, double 12 check-out.

Anderson led 2-1 in the sixth set but a 15-dart leg by Davies evened up the set.

Davies followed that up with two consecutive 180s to set himself up for a shot at a nine-darter - he missed the next treble but clinched the set to take a 4-2 lead.

Davies started the seventh set by winning the first leg in 15 darts.

Anderson won the next leg to level the set but Davies hit back with a 12-dart leg to edge closer to a victory he sealed with a double 10.

"The darts just flew in again this afternoon," said a delighted Davies afterwards.

"I started slowly today which was different to my previous games, but I managed to fight back and the deciding leg in the fourth set was the crucial one.

"I'm looking forward to the final now. If anyone would have told me at the start of the week that I would be in the final, I'd have laughed at them."

Anderson said: "Going 2-0 up in the fourth set and then losing it 3-2 is not good enough. I just threw it away.

"It's been a good week for me. Three Scotsman in a tournament, that's good enough for us."
