Henman's Wimbledon story

Tim Henman first hit the Wimbledon headlines in 1995 when he accidentally hit a ball girl and later apologised

On the court the young British hopeful made the second round where he lost to Pete Sampras - a familiar foe down the years

A year later, he made on-court headlines with a sensational five-set first round win over fifth seed Yevgeny Kafelnikov

Having made the quarter-finals in 1996 and 1997, Henman progressed to a semi-final against Pete Sampras in 1998

With that success, the phenomenon of Henmania was born

It was a repeat performance 12 months on - another four-set semi-final defeat to Pete Sampras stopping him in his tracks

After the highs came the low of a fourth-round defeat in 2000 - Henman's worst Wimbledon return in the last seven years

As well as a partisan crowd, Henman's parents Tony and Jane and wife Lucy (far right) are a constant courtside presence

But even their support could not help him to victory against Goran Ivanisevic in their rain-affected 2001 semi-final

And it was last-four heartbreak yet again in 2002 when Henman lost to another eventual champion, Lleyton Hewitt

The straight sets defeat to the Australian left Henman Hill reflecting on another broken dream for their hero in SW19

But they and the rest of Britain will be hoping for more jubilant fist pumping in 2003 - all the way to the men's title
