Charron is battling a serious knee injury |
Canada expect captain Al Charron to be fully fit for the start of their Rugby World Cup campaign. The veteran flanker injured his knee ligaments during a rare appearance for an Ottawa club team in August.
But after work with the national side's head physiotherapist, the Canucks' captain is now taking part in full training sessions with the squad.
Charron will be joined by another experienced player, Ryan Banks, who has also recovered from injury to join the party.
The Canadians, however, will be without flanker Danny Baugh and lock forward John Tait.
Wing David Lougheed will be taking part in his fourth tournament, despite having retired after the 1999 World Cup.
Mike James, Bob Ross, Rod Snow and Winston Stanley will all be making their third appearances.
London Irish number eight Phil Murphy misses out and will be a non-travelling reserve.
