Matt Kvesic happy with Worcester Warriors return

Worcester flanker Matt Kvesic says he has put the thrill of England Under-20s' Grand Slam behind him and is focussed getting Warriors promotion.

Kvesic played in all of England's Six Nations games and returned to Worcester's starting line-up for Saturday's 44-13 win over Nottingham.

"It is good to be back and playing for Worcester," Kvesic told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"Now I just want to cement a place going into the rest of the play-offs."

The 18-year-old added: "There were things we wanted to work on from last time we played Nottingham and it was a better team performance.

"The boys were happy to get the tries.

"We knew it was going to be a physical game - they wanted to come out and prove a point and we stood up to it well and got a good margin of victory."

It has not been a problem for me coming back into the club after the England spell

Kvesic, who turns 19 this month, was part of the England Under-20s side that rounded off their unbeaten Six Nations campaign with an emphatic 46-15 win over Ireland in Dublin.

But the teenager says there was no hangover from his Grand Slam success when he returned to his Championship duties.

"It has not been a problem for me coming back into the club after the England spell.

"I've had a bit of stick from the boys, but they have been really good on my return and I have learnt the new things quickly.

Kvesic broke through to score the fifth try of the game against Nottingham and believes the game at London Welsh next Saturday is a big one for the Warriors.

"My try was about good build-up from the boys and Tom Arscott beating his man - I was just poaching on the inside and there was not a lot to do except run it in.

"It's massive to now perform at the weekend and London Welsh will be going for it.

"They will be tough and it is not very easy to go to their place. But a good week of preparation and we will be ready to get stuck in."
