Head coach Terry Matterson has told BBC Radio Leeds that Castleford Tigers must use their stunning 30-24 victory over St Helens to kick-start their season. It was only the Tigers' second win of the season, but they can move off the foot of Super League with victory over Hull on Friday. "We need to keep performing every week. It's frustrating that we aren't consistent enough," said Matterson. "We are slowly getting players fit again, which will make us stronger." Castleford's return to Super League has not been helped by a huge injury list at The Jungle and Matterson praised the contribution of his team's youngsters in earning another vital victory. "We have some key personnel out missing at the moment, but the younger guys have started to stand up and perform," he said. "Joe Westerman is doing the little things a lot better now. His decision making has improved and he's become a lot more patient. "His defence in recent weeks has been poor, but he was excellent against Saints and that benefits his whole performance."
