Salford stay rooted to the foot of the Super League after Wigan ran in nine tries to claim a comprehensive win. Stand-off Trent Barrett scored his first hat-trick for the Warriors who took an early lead through Phil Bailey.
The Reds matched their opponents early on with Andy Coley scoring two tries but they struggled defensively.
Scores either side of half-time through Thomas Leuluai and Harrison Hansen hit them hard before Shane Millard (two) and Darrell Goulding sealed the win.
Salford coach Karl Harrison "I can't get my head around what happened in the second half. There was lots of effort with the ball but without it we were a disgrace to be honest.
"Our defensive structure is pretty good but you can't legislate for people missing one-on-one tackles.
"It's disappointing because the people who are missing tackles are good players."
Wigan coach Brian Noble "It was a little like touch and pass in the first half but I just knew if we looked after the ball we had enough quality in our attack to trouble them.
"I thought Trent Barrett looked sharp but all four half-backs looked dangerous."
