O'Sullivan took just 72 minutes to beat his Irish opponent 5-0 in Cardiff. He meets Joe Perry in the third round.

Afterwards he confirmed: "I've been asked if I'd consider a couple of parts in a film and I'm waiting to read the script.

"The thought of acting has always appealed to me."

O'Sullivan added: "When I heard about it, my first reaction was that it was a wind up.

"It isn't, and we'll just have to see what happens.

Unpredictable

Asked if he wanted to be snooker's answer to footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones, he replied: "I don't want to be another Vinnie Jones - I want to be Ronnie O'Sullivan."

O'Sullivan had not played a match since losing to Stephen Hendry in the last four at the UK Championship in November.

But with Judge unable to capitalise on his chances, he had little trouble in wrapping up a runaway victory highlighted by breaks of 75, 64 and 67.

The unpredictable 28-year-old said: "I just want to pick up some momentum. I've been practising hard and enjoying it but there's no substitute for being in a match."

O'Sullivan is taking part in the Welsh Open, his bogey event, for the 13th time, and has yet to advance past the semi-finals.

"I'm concentrating hard on ranking events and the Masters at Wembley, so to win here would be tremendous," he said.
