Zo� made a classic mistake there� you should never bet what you can't afford to lose. I would have recommended a modest each-way wager, but even then I would say pick a horse with a better chance.
When the odds are long, they're long for a reason. Check out the form first. Choosing your horse just because you like the name is a mug's game.
