3 Vinando (L Dettori) 4-1

1655 - Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (1m 4f)
1 Young Mick (T Quinn) 28-1
2 Glistening (N Mackay) 4-1 Fav
3 Palomar (S Drowne) 16-1
4 Polygonal (J F Egan) 50-1

1625 - Wokingham Stakes (6f)
1 Baltic King (J Fortune) 10-1
2 Firenze (J Spencer) 5-1f
3 Bahamian Pirate (E Ahern) 33-1
4 Borderlescott (R Ffrench) 14-1
28 ran. Dist: 1, 1

Baltic King surged on the stand rail to pip 5-1 favourite Firenze inside the final furlong in the 28-runner dash, one of the biggest betting races of the year.

Distinctly Game led the field in the early stages but from three furlongs out the race was wide open.

Jamie Spencer guided Firenze from stall one on the nearside rail around the field to the front with just over one furlong left but Jimmy Fortune and Baltic King appeared late with a strong run to take the spoils.

Veteran Bahamian Pirate, David Nicholls' 11-year-old, got up for third with Borderlescott finishing a staying-on fourth.

1545 - Golden Jubilee Stakes (Group One) (6f)
1 Les Arcs (J Egan) 33-1
2 Balthazaar's Gift (J Spencer) 50-1
3 Takeover Target (J Ford) 7-2f
18 ran. Dist: nk, 2l

Les Arcs, ridden by John Egan, shattered Takeover Target's hopes of a famous double when he landed the showpiece Golden Jubilee Stakes.

The Tim Pitt-trained Les Arcs hit the front one furlong out and hung on as Balthazaar's Gift came from nowhere to challenge on the line.

Australia's 7-2 favourite Takeover Target was bidding to add the race to the Group Two King's Stand Stakes he won on Tuesday.

1505 - Hardwicke Stakes (Group Two) (1m 4f)
1 Maraahel (R Hills) 9-2
2 Mountain High (K Fallon) 7-2f
3 Enforcer (K McEvoy) 8-1
8 ran.

Maraahel edged out stablemate Mountain High on the line with Enforcer a length or so back in third.

Day Flight, in fourth, was boxed in all the way and looked threatening without finding a way through the traffic.

Bandari set the pace until three furlongs out when the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Mountain High, ridden by Kieren Fallon, took over.

But Richards Hills bided his time and then pointed Maraahel to the outside for a succesful late dash.

Stoute's third runner Hard Top was unable to settle throughout and made no impression on the finish.

Stoute said of the winner: "He's threatened for a while with some great performances last year.

"Richard gave him a great ride - he's only got a short run in him. He was very brave and rode a lovely race on him."

1430 - Chesham Stakes (7f)
1 Champlain (P Robinson) 7-2
2 Country Song (K Fallon) 5-1
3 Middleham 12-1 (Joe Fanning)
11 ran. Dist: 2l, hd

Champlain, ridden by Philip Robinson, won the seven-furlong opener for two-year-old colts.

The Michael Jarvis-trained runner, owned by Sheikh Mohammed, took up the running from just over one furlong out after Middleham went for home at the three furlong pole.

"He's a natural two-year-old and although he's not very big, he's very mature for his size," said Jarvis.

"We'll get through this season first but he gets seven furlongs very well. I suppose, with him being a natural two-year-old, the Superlative at the July meeting jumps up (as a possible target) but we'll have to speak to the boss first."

A celebratory race meeting at Lingfield Park racecourse marks 20 years of horse racing on its all-weather track.
