Guernsey are hoping to reclaim the inter-island darts titles |
Guernsey will look to gain revenge and beat Jersey as they host their old adversaries in the 2008 darts inter-insular. Jersey's men beat Guernsey 5-4 in 2007, while the women beat them 6-3. A 200-strong crowd is expected to pile on the pressure at a specially erected marquee at the KGV fields. "You've got a lot of people expecting you to win and win big. But it's always hard against Jersey," Guernsey captain Rob Davidson said. And women's captain Yvonne Le Gallec says it is a case of having strong personalities up on the oche: "We've got a very strong team, a lot of dependable women, people who I would class as solid players. "Obviously the nerves will come into it, but we all get nervous. But it's such a great night. Hopefully we're going to come back with the trophy." Guernsey's men had won in 2006, 2005 and 2004 before losing their crown to Jersey last year, while the women also won in 2005.
