Garbelotto has overseen a recent upturn in his side's fortunes

Everton Tigers head coach Tony Garbelotto has been named BBL coach of the month for December.

He guided his team to three victories from three games in all competitions during the month.

Garbelotto said: "Obviously whenever you win this type of award, even though they are individual awards, it is a team effort.

"This award is great recognition of what is happening in our club and should be shared among the team."

He added: "We played great in December, and got stronger from the start through to the end.

"We need to do much the same as we did before Christmas - play hard, develop chemistry and prepare as professionally as possible."

The Tigers started their winning run with an 84-69 defeat of the Plymouth Raiders, before a 99-87 victory over MK Lions and a 73-61 win against top-of-the table Sheffield Sharks at the Echo Arena.
