Ask the assembly for a show of hands about how they get to school - do they walk, take the bus, cycle, arrive by car or perhaps run?
Brother and sister Linet and Moses Masai are Kenyan long distance runners. Moses was born in 1986 and is three years older than Linet. They have a younger brother, Dennis who is also a runner. Moses and Linet both specialise in 10,000m (6.2 miles). Relate this to distance in school, eg, number of times round the playing field.

They went to school together in a hilly area of Kenya a long way from big towns or cities. Running is a big deal in Kenya and Moses' passion for running started when he was at school. Lots of children have long journeys to school and often run to school and back home.
When they were at school, Moses and Linet often used to get up at 4.30 in the morning and run for an hour and a half to get to school.
