Colin McRae will be back for Skoda in Rally Australia |
Colin McRae will continue his World Rally comeback after agreeing to drive for Skoda in the Rally of Australia next month. McRae said: "I've had some really good results in Australia, and I think Skoda can do well there."
Skoda initially tempted the 1995 world champion out of exile for the Wales Rally GB, where he finished seventh.
After that result McRae, 37, expressed his wish to return to rallying on a full-time basis in 2006.
That now seems a step closer after the Scotsman agreed to drive for the Czech Republic-based team.
Skoda's motorsport chief Martin Muehlmeier is happy to have McRae back on board in Australia.
He said: "I am delighted that Colin has agreed to drive for us once again.
"His experience of this difficult rally will be important and we know that he will give 100% effort in trying to achieve the best possible result to end the season."
McRae won Rally Australia in 1994 and 1997.
