Lewis Hamilton is confident McLaren can close the gap on leaders Red Bull and "break the stranglehold at the front". The 2008 champion expects the car to perform better on high-speed circuits and says developments to improve its race pace are also planned.

Red Bull had to modify their diffuser for the Monaco Grand Prix after the diffuser wings were found not to comply with the FIA regulations but the team still managed to claim a dominant one-two.
