Thursday was a rest day on the Tour
An American tourist died on Wednesday as a result of injuries sustained when he was hit by a car while watching the Tour de France.

The 43-year-old from Pennsylvania, who went to watch two-time champion Lance Armstrong compete in the sixth stage, was hit by the vehicle on a bridge in Strasbourg last Friday.

His wife who was watching the race with him was unhurt.
