505 yards, par four This hole was lengthened by 35 yards for 2006 and they stuck on another 15 yards the following year. It is a left-to-right dogleg, but the fairway goes right-to-left, so the camber goes the wrong way. You used to need a cutter off the tee to hold it up down the right-hand side but a new row of trees down the right forces you further left and brings the pond into play. The green has been enlarged at the back. This happened when Rae's Creek, the stream that runs through the course, flooded a few years ago. They have now got a flag position back left which is a real beauty - it really is a tester. There is nothing on the right-hand side, so there have been lots of people bailing out in that direction. Then they are left with a long, fast, downhill chip-and-run, with the water just eight or 10 feet beyond, so accuracy is a great thing. Many people will remember Larry Mize chipping in to win the Masters in 1987, when it looked odds-on that he would lose. 2010 rank: 2nd hardest (stroke ave. 4.296) All-time rank (1942-2010): 3rd (4.29)
