Costly handshake
Two men shaking hands
Well done ref, good game

A football manager has found himself in hot water - for shaking hands with a referee.

Thom Ahlund, the assistant coach with Swedish side Hammarby is facing a ban after "agitated" handshakes with match offcials following a 0-0 draw with rivals Orgryte.

Ahlund and the rest of the bench were furious after referee Daniel Stalhammar turned down a penalty appeal and disallowed a goal for offside.

When the game finished, the Hammarby number two was seen on television striding up to Stalhammar and his two linesmen, before vigorously pumping the hand of each official.

"I guess it was a bit of an agitated handshake," Ahlund admitted afterwards - "but I was upset and felt robbed."

He could well be robbed of his position on the bench for a while if he is found guilty of unsportmanlike conduct by the league's disciplinary committee next week.
