Richard Brodie is City's top scorer this season with 10 goals
York City have won their appeal against the booking of Richard Brodie against Oxford, after the Football Association accepted it was mistaken identity.
The striker's fifth caution of the season, for allegedly kicking the ball away, would have caused him to miss Tuesday's game at Luton.
But York manager Martin Foyle told BBC York: "The fourth official... got the wrong player, it's Adam Smith."
The appeal was heard on Tuesday in time for the Hatters game.
The incident happened when York took the lead after 71 minutes of the 1-1 draw, and Smith kicked the ball away.
Smith added: "Just out of excitement I've just kicked the ball away in celebration. I told the referee it was me who kicked the ball away and only in celebration."
A big thanks to Nigel Adkins at Scunthorpe, he's given us Adam Boyes for a month for nothing

Meanwhile, Foyle is happy with the return of former York striker Adam Boyes on a month's loan from Scunthorpe.
"A big thanks to Nigel Adkins at Scunthorpe, he's given us Adam Boyes for a month for nothing, and I know Adam will run his heart out for me and the club," Foyle added.
