Ghaly has swapped Holland for north London |
Tottenham have signed Feyenoord's Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly on a four-and-a-half-year contract. The combative midfielder, 24, made 49 appearances for Feyenoord after joining them from Egyptian side Ahly.
Spurs' sporting director Damien Comolli told the club's website: "I have watched Hossam since he was 17.
"He is a versatile, very physical and technically gifted midfielder who will offer us a number of playing options. He's a terrific addition to the squad."
Ghaly had previously been linked with Tottenham's north London rivals Arsenal.
Despite winning 19 international caps, Ghaly was not selected to be part of the Egypt squad currently competing in the African Cup of Nations.
His arrival at White Hart Lane triggered the departure of Michael Brown.
The former Sheffield United player joined Fulham shortly after on Tuesday.
