Torquay hoping to re-sign duo Rendell and Branston

Torquay boss Paul Buckle is confident of bringing Scott Rendell and Guy Branston back to the club.

Peterborough striker Rendell joined the Gulls on a season-long loan last term, while Burton defender Branston moved to Devon on loan in January.

Buckle said both players are now eager to move back to Plainmoor once again.

He told the club's official website: "Both Scott and Guy are desperate to play for Torquay United and I am keen that they are given the opportunity."

"We are in discussions with Peterborough and Burton, but with club's pre-season preparations being so busy these things can take time.

"We have a good sized squad and with a couple more additions we will be ready."

Torquay are scheduled to report back for pre-season training on Thursday.
