Lopez turned down offers from two other Championship clubs
Jordi Lopez says manager Paulo Sousa will bring the best out of him after agreeing a two-year deal with Swansea.
"Paulo played a big part in my decision to accept Swansea's offer and sign the deal," said the Spanish midfielder, 28.
"We were together at QPR so I know how he works. After a difficult year for me, the way he treats his players will help me get back to my best.
"I want to get back to the level I reached in Spain and I hope the Swansea fans get to see me at my best."
Lopez is new Swans boss Paulo Sousa's first signing, but they worked together last season when the Portuguese recruited him on a three-month deal at QPR.
The midfielder has signed in time to fly to Spain with the Swans squad on Tuesday for a week-long tour.
The former Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Mallorca and Racing Santander player won the Uefa Cup with Sevilla in 2006.
He arrived in English football after being released by Real Mallorca last December, joining QPR in February.
Lopez opened talks after his three-month contract at Loftus Road expired but was unhappy with the wages being offered and the negotiations ended, leaving the player as a free agent.
It is understood he turned down offers from two other Championship clubs to join the Swans on a free transfer.
"I am happy to sign for Swansea and I am looking forward to the new challenge," Lopez told the club's website after seeing his new team-mates in action in the 6-1 friendly win at Neath FC.
"I will take things step by step and hopefully help Swansea do well at the end of the season."
