Stoke City boss Tony Pulis hopes to have made his first signings of the summer by the time the players report back for pre-season training.
"We've got targets and we're trying to bring a few in if we possibly can," Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We'll be doing our best over the next couple of weeks to cement them in."
Pulis spent around £25m on 12 permanent signings and two loan players last season as he led the Potters to 12th place in the Premier League.
The season ended on 24 May, but Pulis has been working hard to make sure that Stoke build on a promising start to life in the top flight.
"There's lots of things behind the scenes and it's busy time for a manager in respect of finding out what's available," added Pulis.
"We've got to make sure that we maintain the drive and commitment, and that's not just for the players, but for the people of Stoke-on-Trent.
"We're looking to try and emulate things that went on, both on and off the pitch, last season."
