Former Scunthorpe United striker Martin Paterson has revealed that it was ambition that saw him leave the club.
He has completed his 1m move to Burnley from Glanford Park after scoring 14 goals last season.
He told BBC Radio Humberside: "I'm thankful to the Scunthorpe fans because they took to me over the season and they were brilliant throughout.
"It's a shame things have turned sour and it's like any job I've left to seek better football."
Paterson led the line for Scunthorpe after leaving Stoke City last summer but despite his goals he failed to keep them in the Championship and after putting in three transfer bids, Burnley have finally got their man.
"I want to achieve things in the game and it's not been nice not knowing where you're going to be throughout the summer," he added.
"You always worry because you want to go somewhere and other people have other ideas but I'm just glad it's all over now and I can get on with it."
