Ross County have sacked manager Willie McStay after just nine games in charge at Victoria Park.
The decision was made after Saturday's goal-less draw at home to the First Division's bottom side Stirling Albion.
The former Celtic coach failed to win a single game in league and cup competition following his appointment in November last year.
The club's director of football, George Adams, has taken temporary charge of team matters.
McStay replaced Adams' son, Derek, as County manager following his predecessor's move to assist Colin Calderwood at Hibernian.

The 49-year-old had recently returned to Scotland after a spell managing Hungarian side Ujpesti Dozsa, with whom Celtic were developing a working relationship.
But his departure from the Dingwall club comes after a post-match discussion with chairman Roy McGregor in the wake of the draw with Jocky Scott's Albion.
It left McStay with a league record of four draws and three defeats with the two Scottish Cup ties against Dundee United making up his nine-game tenure.
County say McStay's departure was "agreed by mutual consent".
"The manager's departure follows a series of disappointing results in Ross County's First Division campaign," said a statement on the County website.
"The board would like to express their thanks to Mr McStay for his commitment and effort during his time at the club and wish him well for the future.
"A recruitment process by the board to identify and appoint a new manager will begin straight away.
"In the meantime, the club's director of football, George Adams, will assist with the running of first team affairs."
