League Two side Port Vale have named midfielder Tommy Fraser as their captain for the coming season.
The 21-year-old, who signed on a free transfer from Brighton in June, replaces previous skipper Sam Stockley.
Marc Richards has been appointed vice-captain, after leading the side in Stockley's absence last season.
Manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's not afraid of getting on the ball, he's very vocal, and has the leadership qualities you want."
Five players - Stockley, Richards, Dave Brammer, Gareth Owen and John McCombe, all wore the armband during the 2008/09 season.
Adams has rotated the captaincy during pre-season, with Fraser, Owen and Richards all leading the team at various stages.
