Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to play down expectations after his long-awaited return to action. Solskjaer's seven-minute substitute appearance at Birmingham ended a 19-month exile from first-team action.
The 32-year-old Norwegian received a warm welcome from United fans but said: "It's going to take time to get my proper fitness back.
"I'm back in the squad now and available if the manager needs me."
Solskjaer has undergone two bouts of knee surgery since his last first-team appearance in the 2004 FA Cup final against Millwall.
The Norwegian warned it will take time for him to reach the level that made him one of the Premiership's most feared penalty-box predators.
He said: "The fans have been fantastic, it is surreal and in a way maybe a bit unrealistic.
"They have seen me come back now but hopefully they will see a few better performances from me.
"It was a great feeling just to get back on the pitch again and to be able to wave to the supporters at the end."
