Lincoln City vice chairman Bob Dorrian says the Imps are keen to hold on to striker Davide Somma beyond the end of the season.
Earlier this week Lincoln extended the loan deal for the 25-year-old Leeds forward until the end of the campaign.
And Dorrian told BBC Lincolnshire "We would be more than happy to pay a fee for Davide.
"Leeds have got an option for a further two years so we would have to buy that out if Leeds didn't want him."
He added: "Alternatively if they exercised the option perhaps we could get him on a season-long loan."
Somma has scored five goals in five starts in a month-long loan spell.
Imps manager Chris Sutton feels his Premier League experience will be of benefit to the striker.
He said: "I think I can help him with his game and help him improve and it would be nice if we could keep him."
