Lincoln City sign striker Somma as injury crisis looms
Lincoln City have signed striker Davide Somma on a month's loan from League One promotion-chasers Leeds United.
It is hoped that Somma, 24, will be available for the Imps' match against Crewe on Saturday, with as many as four strikers sidelined through injury.
Drewe Broughton, Steven Lennon and Lenell John-Lewis all picked up knocks against Port Vale on Tuesday and are doubtful for the game at Sincil Bank.
Paul Connor is still returning to full fitness after a hamstring problem.
Manager Chris Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire: "We can either sit and cry, or we can roll our sleeves up and get on and hope people can step up to the plate.
"Whether they can or not is another matter but we've got to keep going."
South Africa-born Somma, who began his career in Italy, has played in the American MLS.
Since joining Leeds at the start of the season, he has also been out on loan at Lincoln's League Two rivals Chesterfield.
