Hull City not for sale says chairman Adam Pearson

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson said he would be unable to sell the club while their debts remain high.

City are in their second season in the Premier League but sit in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "The wage bill is £8m to £9m, which is far too high for this football club.

"We're losing money every month which means we need to keep borrowing to keep up now, that obviously, long-term, needs to be sorted out."

Pearson, who returned in October to replace Paul Duffen, ruled out an immediate sale of the club due to the debts City had accrued in the past 18 months.

He said: "I don't think this club is saleable. When you're bottom of the league and your overheads are so high I just can't imagine anyone [coming in]."

The club are hoping to off-load some of their players during the transfer window but the chairman admitted that there was not a lot of interest for their players.

He added: "There has not been enough care and attention done to the transfers and the deals."
